Black Venom electric roller shutter on RAM TRX

Roller Shutter Care: Keep Your Shutter Running Smoothly

A roller shutter is used every day and lives outdoors, so a little regular care goes a long way, especially after beach or dusty trips.

Regular cleaning

  • Rinse the shutter and side rails with fresh water to remove dust, sand and salt
  • Use a mild car wash and a soft brush; avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive pads
  • Never pressure-wash directly into the canister or seals at close range

Keep the tracks clear

Grit in the side rails is the most common cause of a shutter feeling stiff. Brush or vacuum the rails out and wipe them clean.

Check the drains

Shutters use drain tubes to carry water away. Make sure they are not blocked by leaves or mud.

Electric shutters

  • Do not force the shutter if it stops; check for obstructions first
  • Keep the battery healthy, as a weak battery can affect operation
  • Follow the product instructions for any reset procedure

After beach trips

Salt and sand are tough on all moving parts. Rinse the shutter thoroughly as soon as you can.
